APPLIQUE BY EMBROIDERY MACHINE

Applique has always been easy to do. Now it's even easier. Learn how to applique using your embroidery machine and software. You can use "stock" applique designs, or create your own in your PE Design software or Artista designer software. click for more information

BASIC DIGITIZING

One of the best features of the artista software program is the ability to create your own designs. Turning artwork into stitches – digitizing – is a creative process that can by satisfying and rewarding. In this hands on class, we will work with elements of a good design and artwork for digitizing, developing a digitizing plan and creating a road map for better digitizing. click for more information

BEGINNING DIGITIZING

Beyond the Basics. This class is designed to build on the skills you learned in your introductory Artista Digitizing class. We will focus on making your designs look better. Techniques of shading, changing entry points for a better sew our, elastic lettering, traveling through a design, outlining with fewer jump stitches—all this and much more. CHENILLE APPLIQUE

Jan will teach you how to make use of those fabric scraps to create more than just another applique. Use your embroidery machine and software to create your own chenille applique. Or even use the chenille to make pot holders and other kitchen accessories! DESIGN A QUILT WITH ARTISTA SOFTWARE

This quilting and patchwork program is packed with powerful ways to beautifully combine quilting and embroidery. Design your quilt, add embroidery and you can view every detail before you stitch it out. This program does it all â€“ even the math. Bring a pair of "older" loved jeans to class and go home with a Designer Pair ($450 value). Preparation required. So register early. Embroidery, directional stitching and BSR required, but not to fear you may use ours if you don't have one of your own! We will somewhat "enjeaneer" your design and provide you with "jeanspiration!" EDITING 101

Your Bernina software is not just for digitizing. With a few easy clicks, your can easily select an entire design (or individual parts of a design) to change colors or fill patterns, reshape an outline, or even add some lettering. Jan will show you how to customize an embroidery design so you can create professional-looking crafts, home décor, quilts, garments, and more. click for more information

EMBROIDERED BORDERS

Introducing the Border Calculator. See how easily this border software calculates the number of pattern repeats and design placement for your individual dimensions. Whether its linear, round, oval, or rectangular, your border will fet precisely with the greatest of ease and without gaps on your garment or tablecloth – no other software required. In class, you will use the program, which includes 30 embroidery designs, on your laptop computer to plan your border. Then you will stitch your border onto an oval table runner.
